It’s our pleasure to welcome you to visit the village of Materuni to Shimbwe to see the natural vegetation surrounded by valleys and the summit, which is very close to the highest mountain in Africa.
We will pick up you in the morning at 7:30 from your accommodation, then we start to go Materuni up to Shimbwe village, the ride will take half an hour until to the gate you will register and pay the entrance fee after that, we will slowly start heading towards the waterfall, we will spend 40 minutes until we arrive, on the way you will see the coffee tree surrounded by banana trees, you will meet people with happy faces and very kindly who live near the water falls, the guide will also explain to you the traditions and customs of the Chaga people as well as some of the natural medicines that the Chaga people use, when we arrive you will enjoy the view of nature forest and the beautiful waterfall and get some fruits while we enjoy the sound of the water and the good attractive weather, your allow to swim because the water is very fresh and cleaner , when were finish slowly we will pass through the middle of the river towards the other side where we will meet the neighboring village of Shimbew where we will rest a little and have lunch, then after a few minutes we will continue our walk towards our natives we will find them waiting for us eagerly with smiling faces and love to show you how the Chaga tribe prepares coffee while dancing traditional dances and singing until the coffee is ready to test, you are allowed to join the coffee show with them, after that is time to enjoy together taste the fresh coffee, after there we will straighten our bodies and get ready to go back Moshi our day will be over with great joy and happiness, every cent you spend a quarter goes to help the village and children who is disable.
